Chad Small

Chad Small is a freelance environmental and data journalist, originally from New York City. His journalistic work – frequently centering on environmental justice, science policy, and potential responses to climate change – has been featured in Inside Climate News, Grist, Next City, and Gothamist. Chad is a former data reporting fellow at Grist, climate change editorial fellow at the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, and AAAS Mass Media fellow with Inside Climate News. He is also a fourth-year PhD student in Atmospheric and Climate Science at the University of Washington, where he researches how information about tropical phenomena can improve our understanding of extreme rainfall and flooding events.
